My friend mentioned that all the good action sequences of "Live Free or Die Hard" were in the trailer of the film as well. I agreed.
If filmmakers are filming extra scenes for the DVD release, why isn't extra footage being shot for the trailers. Many great scenes have been muted due to already seeing them. As soon as I saw the helicopter in the film, I kept trying to figure at what point the car was going to be driven into helicopter. I knew it was going to happen, just wasn't sure when.
I liked the movie (even if it is over-the-top), but I wish I could have experienced many of the action for the first time during the film.

My high school friend works at a company that helped out with Die Hard Marketing.
He had this to say "Yeah we didn't do the Die Hard trailer, just the tv spots on that campaign. But it's the clients choice to put in all the cool "money shots". That is what gets people into the theaters to buy that ticket right? It's all about the money. The only thing you're not allowed to show are endings, obviously, or a shot that reveals something surprising (think Darth Vader revealing he's the father). The rules change for every film depending on the client and what they want. It's like dealing with a five year old with 35 million dollars to play with"

Nice to see you again Erik! Dumbledore is gay. No, really. :)
Thanks for the comment! Sorry I didn't see it until now. I'm "fixing" the blog. Thanks for the feedback!
