Mutant Brains!

I love a good zombie story. I have a bunch of unfinished zombie stories laying in the depths of computer folders. The zombie-world set-up is a horrific way to test the worth of mankind. The battle between instinct vs. human nature.

There are also "the campy zombie story". The more shotguns, chainsaws and lawnmowers you place in the world... The better. An endless supply of bodies to hack up make for a gory good time.

Marvel Zombies is the latter. This isn't an in-depth story about survival. It is about super-heroes turned super-zombies eating all they can. The story (in my humble opinion) isn't very interesting. On the other hand, it is a great book to see our beloved heroes getting ripped apart by our beloved heroes. It must have been fun creating the book. Everyone involved had to have noticed that they were allowed to completely tarnish the cash cows of Marvel. People don't often get to see the head of Captain America come completely off. There was a time when this wouldn't have been possible.

The other important part to mention is all the classic comic book covers completely re-done in a zombie theme. These are great to look at and almost worth the price of admission alone.

While I have my major gripes about the story (honestly... what could they had done? They went the fun route and for that I understand.), the hardcover book was worth every penny. If not for what it is, but for what it represents to the comic world. A project that must have been an enjoyment for everyone involved.

Bring on the Archie Zombie Apocalypse!

I'm impressionable.

Last week, I watched the PBS documentary of Andy Warhol. I enjoyed it and realized that I loved his screen-print art style. It is actually similar to what I enjoy doing with threshold in GIMP. So here is my little tribute.

Waiting with cats and a camera phone.

I was sitting on the stairs waiting for my ride. "They" waited with me.
