In response to a Facebook friend
I want to know what Arthur's Day is too... just so I can have another reason to raise a glass of Guinness. "Because it makes things blurry" wasn't my most convincing reason. :)

FAIL
*waves white flag*
I done with the photo-a-day project. I knew this day would come. I even made mention of this in my first post of the project. The ultimate goal of the project was to get myself into a habit of carrying around my camera so I would take more pictures. I believe that part worked. My camera is in my backpack every morning. Sadly, what has happened is I've stopped uploading because I'm so far behind. So, I'm claiming photo bankruptcy.
I hope to get the remaining photos uploaded soon enough. Thanks for following my 88 day spree.
In other news...
I saw three great movies this weekend:
1. The Story of Ricky - The shining example of cult ultra-violence. I knew everything there was to know about this movie prior to watching it. It didn't disappoint. This gem is an example of how a movie can be so bad, yet be so good.
Overhear while watching: Person 1: "Seriously, how can he tie his tendon together?" Person 2: "I don't know, but it is awesome that he did!"
2. Night of the Creeps - Zombie movies are always a hit with me. Lots of Z-films will try to balance horror with humor and many fail. This movie is right up there with Return of Living Dead for good horror fun. Although, it could just be because of Tom Atkins' great catch phrase of "Thrill Me."
3. The Hangover - I laughed... a lot. The Hangover was fun. I don't want to talk it up to much. The Hangover didn't push the envelope on these type of buddy films, but I did laugh throughout the entire movie.

Philosophy of fanboy-ism
I'm trying to figure out if the reason that I disliked the original series of Star Trek was because I had been a fanboy of The Next Generation or if the reason I'm enjoying the original series now is because I'm a fanboy of the new movie.
I'm not sure why, but the paragraph above reminds me of the question, "Can God make a rock so heavy that even he can't lift it?"
Yesterday, I watched the first 4 episodes of the original Star Trek on Netflix's Watch Instantly. The episodes that are up are the newly re-mastered versions. I had expected the newly-done special effects to stick out like the effects in the re-done versions of Star Wars, but I've actually been quite impressed. They look like cleaner versions of older effect methods rather then mish-mash of old tech vs new tech in the Star Wars movies.
Spock rocks!

Interesting way to pick a character.
Dungeon and Dragon's Book: Do you like fantasy fiction featuring dwarves or elves? Try building a character of one of those races.
In my head: What? If someone bought Dungeon and Dragons then they obviously like fantasy fiction. What is the other option? Do you like VC Andrew's books? Try building a halfling character.
------------------------
I realize I fell off the photo-a-day wagon. I might try to catch up, I might not. Haven't decided. I did keep it up longer then I thought I would, but I also still don't feel as though I've quit. I just quickly run out of hours in the evening.

Those are tears of joy. Amethyst is very good at folding a chip bag, but this was the first time under the pressure of nice weather, cold beer, and good friends.

This morning I wasn't able to feed our cats because they had vet appointments. Our cats know that when I wake up, I feed them. They just couldn't understand why I wasn't doing it this morning. Below is video of me getting yelled at.

I'm playing Silent Hill: Origins for the PSP. The game's main character is a truck driver named Travis Grady (my second game with a hero named Travis in less then a month!) I suppose I shouldn't get as much enjoyment as I do with a "trucker cap" wearing protagonist.
Speaking of 'trucks', here is a truck I just had to take a picture of. Anybody who knows me knows why.

Anyways, I'm again a day late in a pic. I will be caught up by the end of today.

On Sunday, Amethyst drove me to the east side of Madison to pick-up Silent Hill: Homecoming for the Xbox 360. It was on sale at Best Buy for $9.99. I was hoping to also score a copy of Devil May Cry 4, but there were none to be found.
We then started playing Guild Wars again, but ran into a problem with Amethyst's computer. I have no idea how to fix PC problems, so it looks like we won't be playing again until JR can help. :(
I'm, again, a day late on a photo post. So, here is one from my photo archive:

Meet Scarlet Jacobs.

She is my new character in Guild Wars. I used to play Guild Wars awhile back before I ran into an issue with my login. I was able to fix the problem by buying the game... again. UG! Thankfully, Half-Price Books had a new copy of the game for only $10.
Amethyst and I started the game on Saturday. It has been a lot of fun. Amethyst is a Necromancer and she is leaning toward the Elementalist sub-job, while I'm a Warrior with hopes of a Mesmer second profession.
For anyone who is curious, Scarlet's name is taken from the real name of Shinobu in No More Heroes.

I've been playing a lot of Mario Kart lately. When I'm not playing the game (either the Wii or DS version), I'm thinking of little art projects I can do that revolve around the game.
I thought it would cool/funny to make new graphics for the weapons in the game and mix them with song lyrics. Metallica's All Nightmare Long fits perfectly with the evil blue shells found in the game.

Amethyst and I ate at The Melting Pot this evening. It was very tasty. The lighting wasn't the best for photos. This is the best picture I got of the whole evening.
My sister got Amethyst and I a gift certificate for a "couple's massage" at Leia's Renu which we used today. It was AWESOME!!! Thanks, Heather!

Here is a picture of the Capitol I took while waiting for the bus. Amethyst thought it was a good one and I agree.
I'm making a bit of change from my original plan of "photo-a-day". I will still put up a picture everyday, but I'm thinking about shying away from making sure the picture was taking the day before. Any picture I take can be uploaded to the blog and I will still upload a picture everyday. Since I'm currently one day behind, I will post two pictures (some day... not sure when) to become current.

I finally consolidated my iTunes library on Monday night. I haven't been using my iPod because, quite frankly, the battery life on it sucks. In the portable's defense, the gadget is old. My DS and PSP have served as my music player substitute, but they don't sync with iTunes. My music went from being in one nice location to being spread out all over the many computers I touch.
I got sick of it, cleaned it up, and pulled out the iPod Photo again. Lets see how it goes.

Amethyst and I had some family and friends over on Easter. It would have been a great time to take pictures, but I (sadly) didn't pick up my camera the entire day.
That doesn't mean that I won't put a picture up though...
Awhile back, Amethyst and I went to visit some close friends in Omaha. We blocked off one day for a trip to the Omaha Zoo. Their zoo was very impressive (although, our Madison Zoo is free!) It was a fun day and I slept great that night from all the walking.
There was controversy when Flickr announced they were allowing video to be uploaded on the image-hosting site. Flickr said that most cameras have a video function and would allow "moving pictures" to be uploaded, but the Flickr community was fearful that their favorite photo sharing site would turn into a YouTube. (I guess to some, Flickr = Snotty Golf Club while YouTube = Trailer Park.)
While standing in the Omaha Zoo, I saw two fish tanks that I found to be the perfect example of "moving pictures". I was having trouble taking a picture due to the glass, but in hindsight I doubt the shot would have been as interesting anyways as the entire movement of the tank. So slow, relaxing, and hypnotic.
This was my first "moving picture" that I've uploaded to Flickr. Enjoy.
